I have heard of guns being damaged and even destroyed by mistake when in the possession of the police for various reasons.

Why bother with certificates at all?

There are now more crimes with handguns than there ever were with all 'guns' some 15 years ago. The only people who have hand guns are the police.........so………………!

Can you work out the answer yourselves?

No? Well the resultant present day crime wave with handguns is either down to the Police or Criminals. If Criminals - and I must assume that it is not ALL down to the Police - then ought we to make Criminals apply for the relevant certificates?

If not why bother with those of us that stay within the law?

I do think a certificate is a good idea but does it have to cause mental mayhem and harass people

I think they only issue the temp if you ask for itbut they are supposed to at that point. This seizing of guns really concerns me it is not normal. Like I said seek advice without any further delay.

I`ve just spoken to them and they assure me that the guns are in their armoury. I asked if they could have issued a temporary certificate and she said I suppose so she`s going to chase my application and ring me back!!

Is it easier renewal procedures that we want or a quicker system, my FAC has been in for 14 weeks almost yet a friend of mine in the next-door police force get's his back within a week.

When mine comes to me it will come in an unregistered letter with open slots when my friend get's his back it is hand delivered by the local firearms officer open slots or not.

I don’t mind the current forms every 5 years but I think what we all need is a service like Surry police and not Sussex police, guess what force mine is
