Interesting question - I'd say no.

Lets look at a hypothetical situation (under the present Government), let's say that we did manage to persuade all the anti's and Police Authorities to grant Shotgun certificates without the current checks and delays, those who want them banned altogether can then say "gun crime is still rising and there is less control over who legally possesses shotguns - getting control back will be a mammoth task...huge demand on public resources....etc etc etc"

What would be their most logical solution???

Ban ALL Shotguns

I'd rather not go there thanks.

He's winding you up, it is 6-8 weeks officially. You can enter him into your ignore list and you won't see any of his posts! hahaha,

I'd say no- on the basis that if it was sped up there would probably be mistakes made...Ask Charles Clarke

Wipes the sweat away from his brow, this is not my first application so I do not know how they go about it now, my previous 2 certificates were issued within a couple of weeks with no inspections or home visits, I doubt very much that it will be like this again, I now wish I had continued to renew it instead of going through all of this, I really want a certificate again but I have a bad feeling about it, it would be just my luck to be refused.
