Hi Everyone

Hey there =) just wanted to poke my head into your forum and introduce myself. I'm justgroovy (aka Shelly) and I am the new community manager here at ShootingTalk. Basically what that means is that I'll act as a liaison between you and the powers-that-be at CrowdGather.

We are still working on putting everything on one set of servers in one location, but once that is done we will be looking for suggestions from community members on what you think will make this forum better for you and what may help bring new members to the site.

Don't be shy! Give your opinions!

I look forward to hearing from you.

That is why we all left. There is so much censorship on here that we can’t even mention another site. By stopping us mentioning other sites we weren’t encouraged to use this one more; just made us bugger off to those other sites permanently.

Hmmm not sure what's going on with the censorship, have you tried typing out the url and then changing the color of some of the letters to white? That's a work around I use quite a bit when i'm trying to type censored stuff.

I don't have admin access just mod status so i can't see or change exactly what is and what isn't censored, but I am going to forward your concerns to my boss to see what can be done to lift those types of things.

Other websites and forums exist, by censoring their names it's not going to make them go away.

As a rule I am anti-sitepimping (WOW GOLD LOW PRICES!!!!) but if it's helpful, specific to the forum's interest and not looking to make money off of members I really don't see a problem.

I'll keep you filled in on what my boss says about this.

Hope this was helpful =)

Ok a quick update, as a Mod I don't have the power to uncensor any words, I just don't have access to it in my mod control panel. However, I have linked the general announcement thing by AJ to my boss and told her I'd like to remove that ASAP, which is something I can do. I just want her to read it before I take it down.

Hopefully I'll either get access to the censored words list or she will be able to put someone else on it to remove the URL blocking.

This really is the kind of input we are looking for to help make this community as active as it deserves to be.

Thanks.

I uncensored the other forum names. If someone blatantly tries to pimp or spam any site- I just shoot them after banning them. Any questions?
