hi ,my most sporting/frustrating bird although not a game bird is the wood pidgeon, pheasants no problem ,partridges more of a problem ,no grouse in bedfordshire so dont know, but cannot hit the bl---dy wood pigeon consistantly, aim a 5 bar gate in front and miss, aim a garden gate in front and miss ,tried 16b, 12b, 10b 3.5inch magnum 2 1/4 oz no 6 shot, please nobody tell me i cant shoot ,you would be rubbing salt in the wound, , i have a 3lb cast iron cannon on a ships carriage ,food for thought?..cheers greasemonkey

been mostly pigeon shooting in a wood ,been trying with poor results for about 35yrs , so there is no hope for me,but i like the challenge so i keep going ,that said it is very rare i miss a running rabbit, can be hot on clays on a good day, but the real thing on the wing eludes me...greasemonkey

It's a close call, but the wood pigeon is just pipped by the grey partridge
