Firearm transfers must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Interstate transfers to an unlicensed recipient generally must be completed through an FFL in the recipient's state of residence. Some states and local jurisdictions also require an FFL or additional procedures for in-state transfers. Always verify the current requirements before completing a transaction. Accurate Descriptions
All listings must accurately describe the item. Include make, model, caliber/gauge, condition, and any known defects. Misleading listings will be removed.
Lawful Transfers Only
Firearm transfers must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Interstate transfers to an unlicensed recipient generally must be completed through an FFL in the recipient's state of residence. Some states and local jurisdictions also require an FFL or additional procedures for in-state transfers. Always verify the current requirements before completing a transaction.
No Price Gouging
Listings that exploit emergencies, shortages, or crises through extreme price inflation may be removed at moderator discretion.
No Straw Purchase Facilitation
Listings or discussions that facilitate straw purchases — buying a firearm on behalf of someone who cannot legally purchase one — are strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.
Seller Responsibility
Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring their listings comply with all applicable laws. ShootingTalk does not verify listings, broker transactions, or determine whether a transfer is lawful.
No Transaction Disputes
ShootingTalk is not a party to any transaction and cannot mediate disputes between buyers and sellers. Use caution and common sense when transacting with strangers.
One Account Per User
Creating multiple accounts to circumvent listing limits or bans is prohibited.
Violations of these rules may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent ban. Listings that appear to facilitate illegal activity may be reported to law enforcement.
